SPEAKER CHANGE: Cleveland artist & world traveler, Heather McClennan, will be speaking at the May 2nd Dine-Around. She has had a fascinating career. Heather received her Bachelor’s of Fine Arts from the Cleveland Institute of Art, with a major in illustration. She has been inspired by her travels to various countries to depict the women of various cultures and experiment with a wide array of techniques. She has also collaborated with the late Viktor Schreckengost.

Calling All Civil War Re-Enactors! The CIVIL WAR ENCAMPMENT & RE-ENACTMENT returns to the Lake County History Center – May 26-27, 2018
The LCHS is hosting this signature event on Memorial Day weekend. Registration is open through May 10, 2018.
Unit/Group Registration form & an Individual Registration form & $10 fee is required for each participant (includes Saturday Dinner Ticket, Civil War Military Ball, wood allotment, water, Free Gas Card Raffle ticket & Remington Pistol Raffle ticket). Children under 12 pay only $5 for the Saturday night meal.
The standard rules of camp and field are in effect. (USV & ANV rules and regulations apply.)
The living history event returns! The CIVIL WAR RE-ENACTMENT
on Memorial Day Weekend May 26-27, 2018 9:30-4:00 at the Lake County History Center 415 Riverside Dr., Painesville, OH.
Admission: Donation only.
Experience the a re-enactment of a Civil War encampment right on the grounds of the History Center. Battle both days at 2:00pm., Sunday church service, Speakers corner, General tent, Battalion drills, Gatling gun demo, Historical interpreters, and Food booth. Special children’s activities (including the Children’s Drill on both days).

Rabbit Run Theater has been a staple of Northeast Ohio for over 70 years. You would be surprised at the performers that have appeared at the theater over the years, such as Dustin Hoffman and Jim Backus. Come hear exciting stories told by Brint Learned, Executive Director of the Rabbit Run Theatre.

Kids’ Night Out 6:00–9:00pm at the Lake County History Center 415 Riverside Dr., Painesville, OH
Parents, enjoy a Friday night off! Let your little ones have fun with our brand new kids’ program. Vintage activities, crafts, and games will be the highlight of this historic evening. Weather permitting, outdoor fun will be included—the perfect opportunity to burn off the included pizza and snacks. Choose from one (or all) of our three Friday night dates! This program is available for kids aged 4 -10.

The Lake County History Center provides rental space for groups and organizations that are looking for a unique location to hold their meeting, festival, or party. All rentals are under contract with rules in place to ensure the safety and preservation of our historic grounds, buildings, collections, and people.
