Historic homes in Lake County often display a plaque distributed by the Lake County Historical Society designating the home as historic. There are over 400 Heritage Homes throughout our county. We are proud to present the updated Heritage Home Story Map that guides you through photographs and history about many of the homes. It is a work in progress, but we hope to one day include information on all our Heritage Homes. Thanks to David Phares, a fulltime cartographer with the Lake County Geographic Information Systems Department, for creating this easy to use index with photography and history of Lake County Heritage Homes.
